Contrary to narratives about yesterday’s massive progressive win in the state being a referendum on Donald Trump, it was actually a referendum on a moribund, establishment state Republican Party.
And PS, I didn’t say this in the podcast, but Brad Schimel was a good candidate, just weighed down by the context of running against a partisan in a nonpartisan race and by a Republican Party that is disconnected from its working and middle class base. We need more candidates like him, and moore like Adam Jarchow and Tom Tiffany, fewer like Tim Michels and Eric Toney.
