Billionaire leftist George Soros has spent hundreds of millions of dollars, if not billions, subsidizing journalism schools and so-called independent nonprofit investigative journalism centers, in the process erecting a massive propaganda infrastructure for the government. Niccolo Caranti photo.

The so-called investigative output of Soros’s “independent” investigative journalism centers is distributed, generally for free, to local and regional newspapers and delivered to readers as objective news. … So the special-interest wing of the New Bossism not only seeds journalism schools but augments government money flowing directly into newsrooms with its own supplemental news agencies. The nascent infrastructure ensures the state-run media’s ideological sure-footedness during this period of transition to a complete government monopoly of the news.

Author’s note: Just a reminder to new subscribers that this is the latest installment from my 2015 book The New Bossism of the American Left. I am serializing it because my forthcoming book, Globacracy: How a massive globalist bureaucracy is shaping a totalitarian one-world state, builds upon this book.
